On Thursday, June 5, 2025, something rather spontaneous happened—an unforseen IC
examination took place!

So, what was the story behind it?

Yuri Stebnovsky, MD, from Ukraine, was unexpectedly granted permission to travel to
Germany – a rare and welcome opportunity in these times. Without missing a beat, he
packed his bags and made the most of his two-week window, diving into hands-on
clinical observations with EFDMA instructors Evgeny Haimov, Thorsten Fischer, and IC
therapist Karolina Maleta.

Inspired by his commitment and enthusiasm, we at EFDMA decided to seize the
moment: Yuri met all the requirements of an IC candidate, so – why wait?

A spontaneous exam was organized, and of course, all EFDMA instructors were kept in
the loop.
The examination panel featured Evgeny Haimov, Thorsten Fischer, and Marcel
Mahlert, who put Yuri through a thorough and challenging evaluation.

After delivering an excellent written test, Yuri impressed the jury with his practical skills and deep
understanding of FDM.

The result? We’re thrilled to welcome the very first FDM-IC therapist from Ukraine!

What an incredible and inspiring milestone.

Once again, FDM has written a unique story—and we couldn’t be happier for Yuri.
