FDM Global Organization FDMGO

The FDM Global Organization “FDMGO” was founded on September 25, 2017 on the occasion of the 7th FDM World Congress in Cologne. In Leutesdorf am Rhein (Germany) the founding members – the three non-profit organizations EFDMA (European Fascial Distortion Model Association), AFDMA (American Fascial Distortion Model Association) and FAA (FDM Asian Association) – met to sign a written agreement on the establishment of the FDM Global Organization. These 3 organizations plus their associated partner AFDMS (African Fascial Distortion Model Society) already have a close cooperation. The FDMGO elevates this international cooperation to a new level.

The clearly defined goal of the FDMGO is to preserve the Fascial Distortion Model in its originality and uniqueness – corresponding to the work and publications of Stephen Typaldos D.O..
Building on this foundation the FDM shall be further enhanced and spread internationally. The efforts and activities of the individual continental associations shall be better coordinated by the FDMGO and thus efficiently streamlined.

The FDMGO objectives are:

  • To maintain the standard of FDM training according to S. Typaldos and, if necessary, enhanced in line with the FDM doctrine. This includes in particular the contents and guidelines of the FDM International Certificate.
  • To promote international events with the aim of disseminating the FDM doctrine and to facilitate exchange and discussion.
  • To define the theme and content for the organization of the International FDM Scientific Conference.
  • To develop a joint corporate identity

The international partners of the EFDMA

One of the main tasks of the EFDMA is international exchange regarding the FDM and the Typaldos method. Together with the FDM associations of the USA, Japan and Africa the EFDMA is constantly working to ensure quality standards regarding FDM teaching and training.
In 2011, for example, the examination standard FDM International Certificate (FDM IC), which is recognized by all associations, was introduced. In 2017 the FDM Global Organization “FDMGO” was founded.

FDM in the USA

The American FDM Association (AFDMA) was founded in August 2007 by Marjorie Kasten to continue the work of Stephen Typaldos, DO, to train doctors, promote research and to inform the general public about the Fascial Distortion Model and its benefits for individual persons and society. The founding members were Dr. Ray Andreassen from Delta Junction, AK, Dr. Byron Perkins from Anchorage, AK and John Kasten from Bangor, ME. Dr. Andreassen was the first president of the AFDMA. Current president is Jennifer Ribar D.O. The AFDMA is a non-profit organization. More information about the AFDMA, its current board, members and courses can be found at  http://afdma.com/

Keisuke Tanaka FDM.O., founded the FDM Asian Association in 2002 and was the first president. FDM in Africa

AFDMS, the youngest of the FDM associations, was founded in 2011 in Burkina-Faso. This event has been made possible by the efforts of Dr. Byrons PERKINS, Dr. Issa OUEDRAOGO and HAROUNA Diallo Ezékias (president of AFDMS). Since then the AFDMS has grown due to many seminars held in Burkina-Faso, Mali and Kenya with the aid of the AFDMA and EFDMA. Thus the FDM is already present in several African countries such as Burkina-Faso, Benin, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Niger and Kenya.
